Bon Odori Prep Event           盆踊り練習会           

 for Natsu Matsuri　　　　　　　　夏祭りのため

Location: EJCA Centre at 6750 88 St., Edmonton

EJCA is excited to hold our Natsu Matsuri on July 15, 2023. One of the favourite events of this festival, and in Japanese festivals around the world, is Bon Odori, or festival dancing. These dances are simple and repetitive, and fun to do together. We will encourage festival-goers to participate in the dance, but it’s easier to learn if there are people who know the steps already.

Therefore, if you would like to be a crowd dance helper, you are invited to a prep event where we will learn the dances. You are also invited even if you may not be able to attend the Natsu Matsuri. It will be fun and casual, you will not be teaching people during the festival, just leading the way, it’s okay to make a mistake!

We will learn 2 traditional dances, and 2 which are EJCA favourites. And if there is time, we will learn a special new dance that hasn’t been seen before!

Refreshments will be served afterwards❣

EJCAでは、2023年7月15日に「夏祭り」を開催することになりました。日本のお祭りで人気のあるイベントのひとつが、盆踊りです。盆踊りは、シンプルで繰り返しが多く、みんなで楽しく踊れるものです。

すでにステップを知っている人が大勢いれば、より簡単に楽しく踊ることができると思うのです。

そこで、みんなと一緒に盆踊りをするときに輪の中に入って一緒に踊っていただく方の練習イベントを計画しました。踊りを習いたい方は、どうぞご参加ください！夏祭りに参加できない方でも、大歓迎です！

伝統的な盆踊りを二つ、EJCAお気に入りダンスを二つ練習します。また、時間があれば、今までにない新しいダンスを練習したいと思います！

終了後、リフレッシュメントをご用意しています❣　ご一緒に楽しい会にいたしましょう。どうぞお友達もお誘いください。
